Top 5 Travel Rewards Credit Cards I Actually Recommend in 2026

If you're trying to squeeze more value out of your everyday spending and actually turn it into real trips, these are the cards that keep earning their spot in my wallet, and in the wallets of everyone I've pointed toward them. I ranked them by who they're actually good for, from "first travel card ever" to "I fly more than I sleep in my own bed."

To make the math real, I'm showing what $3,500 in normal monthly spending would earn on each card, broken down like this:

One quick note before we dive in: two of the "premium" cards on this list got noticeably more expensive in the last year. I've updated the numbers below so you're not blindsided at the annual fee screen.

Annual Fee: $95

This is still the card I tell almost everyone to start with, and 2026 made it even easier to recommend. Chase just refreshed it with new 3x categories on gas/EV charging and vacation rentals (Airbnb, Vrbo, and friends), doubled the annual hotel credit to $100, and added a $120 credit every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS. All of that, and the fee hasn't budged a dollar since it launched. If you're points curious but not ready to commit to a card with a $500+ fee, this is where you start.
